Very well run hospital and very supportive senior body.
Very manageable workload that encourages more independence in foundation training (F2s will be expected to lead arrests) but is still very well supported (usually with at least two medical registrars on during on-calls)
Patients and staff are all very friendly!
Good education team and teaching opportunities
Has it's own M+S, WHSmith and Costa within the hospital - and also Granny Caf! (Charity cafe)
Has it's own train station stop
There is hospital accommodation - 4 bed shared apartments
Cons
Some departments very busy (eg Colorectal surg) and F1 medical ward cover can also be very busy
F1s do nights in all specialties (but this is well supported and a good experience!)
Middlesbrough is quite a deprived area. Not much nearby hospital.
Parking can be difficult in the mornings at times!
